Right when it was released back in 2012, I added a line for the XV-01 chassis on my "wish" list. I confess this list is pretty long and tends to keep growing despite adding new models to my collection on a regular basis .

Porsche 959 Rally 1986 Paris-Dakar Winner
This is a model I bought from a member on the Vintage-RC forum. his model was built from new spare parts: it is in perfect shape and was never run since it is not fully built. I had been interested in this model for several months already, but studying it for the Tamiya Off-Road chassis article made me literally fall in love. with it
I consider this model as a true RC jewel in general, and one on Tamiya most emblematic model they ever produced. Indeed, it concentrates all their know-how at the time it was released back in 1986 and today, it still remains an exceptional model.

Ford Focus RS WRC 2001
I was looking for a rally chassis since I'm a fan of this sport, but until now, I was using my Citroën Xsara WRC based on the TT-01 chassis. Though, even with a chassis cover adapted to it, pebbles and dust could get inside: cleaning was long and boring after each run. On the other side, I decided to setup this chassis for pure on-road usage and no longer for rally. So I needed something else to play "Loeb".
